ADVENTURE THERAPY
Adventure therapy is an interactive approach to healing. Trauma not only affects the mind, but it gets store in the physical body as well. Physical activity has been shown to be a potent way of helping the body release stored trauma while the wonder and awe of nature helps to rewire thought patterns and our perspective of the world around us.
Those with PTSD often find themselves with feelings of loneliness, alienation, and low self-confidence. Adventure therapy focuses on all these aspects by bringing together groups of people who share many of the same challenges at work, inside our bodies, and at home with those we love most. Since scuba diving is not a strenuous activity, it provides a perfect ratio of challenge and reward to help build confidence within ourselves.
